The London Eye

Mostly everyone makes a link to the city of London when they see a ferris wheel. This is mainly due to the London Eye. The London Eye opened its doors on the 1. February 2000 and became the most visited paid attraction in the United Kingdom with over 3.75 visitors per year.

The diameter of the wheel of 120 meters makes the London Eye to the tallest cantilevered observation wheel. Its 32 capsules represent each one of the London Boroughs and are numbered from 1 to 33. Excluding 32 because of superstitious reasons. The London Eye can carry 800 people each rotation and the wheel rotate with a speed of 0.9 km/h and one visit takes about 30 minutes.

In 2004, Coca-Cola signed an agreement of two years to sponsor the London Eye and since then, the attraction is named as “Coca-Cola London Eye”.
