Held over the August bank holiday (the last weekend of August) and dating back to 1966. The Notting Hill Carnival is Europe’s biggest street festival.

Filled with vivid colour, fantastic food drinks, calypso music and steel bands this festival has a distinctly Caribbean vibe. The annual event attracts more than 150, 000 visitors to the area and has famous fans as varied as Idris Elba and Prince Charles.

The Grand finale is held 31 August and showcases a sea of vibrant colours as 60 bands in magnificent costumes dance to the tantalizing rhythms of one of the many music floats or bands.
