24 hour emergency assistance (provided by the Guardian)

As well as a local guardian, students/parents/schools will have out 24/7 emergency contact number which is always answered by a member of our head office staff.

Included in packages: Principal, Basic, University

An assigned local coordinator

Each student will have an assigned guardian. This will be the main contact for any support needed while in the UK. Each local coordinator is DBS (police) checked and has level 2 child safeguarding training. The guardian offers 24-hour emergency contact and is the UK based care giver in the parent’s absence.

Included in packages: Principal, Basic, University

Arrangement of all transport between school, host families and airports

Each area has a private hire company that guarantees safe and reliable transfers across the UK. These can be arranged in advance with parents’ permission. The costs are deducted from the students’ expenses deposit so no money changes hand between drivers and students.

Included in packages: Principal, Basic, University*

Arrangement accommodation with one of our police-checked and inspected host families

Students are welcome to stay with one of our police-checked host families at any time. This is arranged through your local guardian. We recruit our families directly and they are all local to schools. All of our host families are inspected annually by the guardian, all members of the family over 16 years old must have a DBS (police) check and an annual gas safety assessment on their boiler. Host families are all given a handbook with the requirements of being a host family.

We want the host family to be your home away from home so we ask you to let us know what type of family you would like to live with. On our application form, there is a section asking for your preference on what type of family you would like your son/daughter to live with. Think of all the choices: Young or old. Quiet or noisy. Sporty. Musical. With or without pets. With or without children at home. Please give us as much information as you can. We will place a maximum of 3 students in to one host family.

Any student under 16 years old who stays with a family for more than 28 days is classed as a foster child and the family and student will have an assigned social worker who will visit the family and our students to make sure the placement is satisfactory.

If at any time you feel uncomfortable in your host family, speak to your local coordinator who will kindly try and find a solution in your current placement. If there feel it is needed, we will change host family without question.

Additionally, if you have a wonderful time with your host family, tell your local coordinator who will offer the same family to you for future dates if the family are available.
Included in packages: Principal, Basic, University*

Arrangement of SIM card and pocket money to your son/daughter at school

Similar to the role a parents might take, the local guardian is able to assist students with any additional items they need while in the UK. Common items are SIM cards, sports equipment, school uniform, opening a bank account etc.

Included in packages: Principal, Basic, University*

Personal visit from local coordinator within 2 weeks of arrival in the UK

All students will be visited at school by their local guardian within the first two weeks of their arrival at school. This is a welcome meeting to make sure students have had a pleasant journey to the UK and are settling in well at school. From this meeting, the local guardian will write a report and send it to parents.

Included in packages: Principal, Basic

Weekly contact from your local coordinator by text/phone/email

Students on our Principal Service will receive weekly contact from their local guardian.
