London Homestays
British Council registered homestay provider (since 2015)
British Council registered homestay accommodation in London for international students, medical professionals and interns.

London Homestays was founded in 2009 by James McCall and Steve Horrigan, who have been friends since their early twenties. They started out placing international interns and academic students with London host families and quickly saw the demand from language schools too.
Within a few years, they were working with several of London's leading language schools. The host family database has since grown to over 1,000 vetted families across the capital, and London Homestays has placed 10,000+ students from Japan, Brazil, France, South Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, the USA and beyond.
In 2015, London Homestays was registered with the British Council as a provider of homestay accommodation for adults and under-18s.
James McCall, Accommodation Director, lived in Tokyo for several years and taught English there. That gave him a practical understanding of what international students worry about when arriving in London: safety, house rules, dietary needs. It still shapes how the company matches students with hosts.
Steve Horrigan is Operations Director and built most of the company's systems. His background in web development and project management means the coordination between schools, hosts and students runs through purpose-built tools rather than spreadsheets and email chains.
London Homestays meets the standard for registration with the British Council as a provider of homestay accommodation for adults and under 18s for accredited providers in London.
London Homestays has worked with UK language schools, colleges and education partners since 2009. The team understands both what schools expect and what students need, and can handle problems quickly when they come up.
