Enfield and Tottenham Overview

Enfield and Tottenham are vibrant areas with wonderful multicultural communities which can be seen in the number of different eateries in the area. These areas also have a good number of green spaces, so whether you’re looking to relax after a day of hustle and bustle or if you want to kick a ball around, Enfield and Tottenham provide plenty of space in order to do that!

Both Enfield and Tottenham have a wide range of transport options if you want to get around London as well as outside of London. Enfield and Tottenham have a number of London Underground, Overground and National Rail stations, some of these include, Seven Sisters, White Hart Lane, Tottenham Hale and Enfield Town which can take you to places such as Oxford Circus, Euston and Green Park.
There are also a large number of buses that cover Enfield and Tottenham and some of these include the bus route numbers 123, 192 and 313 which can take you to locations such as Ilford, Tottenham Hale and Chingford Station.

Enfield used to be a group of settlements which were united by 1 church, which by the High Middle Ages in 1303 included a small agrarian market town, hamlets spread around the royal hunting grounds of Enfield Chase.
Tottenham is believed to have been named after Tota, a farmer, whose hamlet was stated in the Domesday Book. ‘Tota’s hamlet’, it is thought, developed into ‘Tottenham’. The settlement was recorded in the Domesday Book as Toteham. It is not related to Tottenham Court Road in Central London, though the two names share a similar-sounding root.
