London is full of cute and quirky things to do, and they don’t always break the bank! I have found a few of them, although some reviews stated that a few may not be for the faint hearted!
-Marvel at the Jar of Moles at the Grant Museum of Zoology. This museum is tucked away in UCL just off Goodge street, but it is always worth to check the opening times to make sure you can make it inside, just brace yourself for an odd yet fascinating collection.
-See the over-stuffed walrus at the Horniman Museum. There is a lot to see at this interesting collection, it ranges from a small petting zoo, aquarium, music collection and fossils – there would be something for everyone at this rather pretty location.
-Be wowed by the Rosetta Stone and Egyptian mummies at the British Museum. You could spend all day wondering through this museum as it is massive, however it is laid out to perfection as everything is ordered chronologically and geographically. Such an exciting place to explore and enjoy!
-Be dazzled by the 400 exhibits – including a Spitfire and a Harrier Jet on display at the Imperial War Museum, which recently underwent a £40 million revamp. There is always something different going on at this museum, and the exhibitions are so informative yet feel personal and very touching. The museum spreads itself over 5 floors so there is plenty to see and do!
-See what life was like for the poor and destitute of London’s East End during the late 1800s in The Ragged School Museum. Be careful you visit the school when it is open as there is limited opening during the week with it only being open between 10:00-17:00 on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 14:00-17:00 on the first Sunday of every month, however entry to this attraction is free. You receive a warm welcome and a great insight on school life in the 1800s.
-Take your pain away with a visit to The Anaesthesia Museum, which charts the history of anaesthesia from 1846 to the present day.
-Browse old sewing machines at the London Sewing Machine Museum.
Why not check out something different this week?
