Aberdeen is Scotland’s third largest city, located on the north east coast where the rivers Dee and Don meet the North Sea. Known as the Granite City for its distinctive grey stone architecture, Aberdeen offers groups a unique Scottish urban experience with excellent museums and parks.
The city is renowned for its award-winning parks and gardens, having won Britain in Bloom multiple times. Aberdeen features significant historic buildings including Marischal College, one of the world’s largest granite structures, along with maritime heritage sites and a long sandy beach.
What group leaders need to know
Every group is quoted individually, because centre, dates and numbers all move the price. The practical arrangements are the same wherever your group stays.
Students stay with host families in twos, threes and fours. Group leaders and other adults travelling with the group can have single rooms if any are free when you book.
We suggest full board: breakfast and dinner at the family’s table, and a packed lunch to take out for the day. Half board, without the packed lunch, is also an option.
A local organiser is at the meeting point each morning and evening. Students are handed over between host families and group leaders with someone responsible present both times.
Airport transfers can be arranged for the whole group by taxi, minibus or coach. Ask for a quotation when you enquire.
Hosts who take students under 18 are DBS checked, and our safeguarding policies cover every group placement.
Larger groups pay less per person. A deposit of 20% of the total or £500, whichever is higher, holds the booking. The balance is due 28 days before arrival.
