Become a Homestay Host in Glasgow
Earn up to £250 per week by hosting international students from City of Glasgow College.
Welcome international students into your home
City of Glasgow College welcomes hundreds of international students every year from all over the world. We are looking for friendly Glasgow households with a spare room to offer homestay accommodation.
As a homestay host, you would provide a warm welcome and a comfortable room for a student while they study in Glasgow. You may also provide meals depending on the booking — options range from self-catering to bed & breakfast or half board. It is a rewarding experience and a wonderful way to earn extra income.
Why become a homestay host?
- Earn up to £250 per week from your spare room
- Meet people from around the world and learn about different cultures
- Flexible hosting arrangements — short-term or long-term stays available
- Full support from the college throughout the placement
- Make a real difference to a young person’s experience of studying in Glasgow
What we are looking for
We welcome hosts from all backgrounds and areas across Glasgow. To be a homestay host, you will need:
- A spare room that is clean, comfortable, and furnished (including a desk, chair, and wardrobe)
- A willingness to provide meals if required — students may book self-catering, bed & breakfast, or half board
- A friendly, welcoming attitude towards international visitors
- To be located within reasonable travelling distance of the college
All hosts are visited and approved before any student is placed. A PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) check may be required depending on the student’s age.
