Homestay Accommodation for Language School Students in London

Live with a London family while you study English

Homestay Accommodation for Language School Students in London

If you are coming to London to study English at a language school, living with a host family means you practise outside the classroom. You hear and speak English every day — at breakfast, over dinner, when you need directions or want to know what something means.

London Homestays places language school students with host families across Greater London. We have worked with students from schools of all sizes, from small independents to large chain providers.

How it works

You tell us your language school (or the area it is in), your course dates, and any preferences. We match you with a host family on a sensible commute route. You get the host’s details before you arrive.

Most language school students book for 2 to 12 weeks, though longer stays are possible if you are on an extended course or combining study with work.

What you get

  • Your own room in an inspected home with Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels
  • A host family vetted through home visits and reference checks
  • A meal plan of your choice: self-catering, bed and breakfast, or half board
  • Office support during your stay and an out-of-hours emergency contact

Half board is the most popular option for language students. You get breakfast and an evening meal with your host family — two meals a day where you are speaking English as part of normal life.

Why language students choose a homestay

Living in a hostel or shared flat with other international students means you end up speaking your own language most of the time. A homestay puts you in an English-speaking household where you use English for real, everyday things.

Your host can also help with practical things: how the Tube works, where to buy a phone SIM, what to do if you feel unwell. That kind of support makes a difference when you are new to London.

Pricing

Three accommodation tiers based on London travel zones:

Executive (Zones 1–2) — central, close to many language schools in Zone 1. From £280 per week.

Superior (Zones 2–3) — good balance of location and cost. From £245 per week.

Standard (Zone 3+) — more affordable, slightly longer commute. From £205 per week.

All prices include your room and chosen meal plan. A one-off booking fee applies.

Common questions from language school students

Can I book for just 2 weeks?

Yes. Our minimum booking is usually two weeks. Many language students stay for 4 to 8 weeks.

What if my English is very basic?

That is fine. Many of our hosts have experience with students at beginner level. They speak clearly and are patient. A translation app on your phone helps too.

Will I share a bathroom?

It depends on the home. Some hosts offer a private bathroom, others share. If you have a strong preference, tell us in your application.

Can I choose the area?

Yes. Tell us your school’s address and we will focus on host families with a reasonable commute. If you have a preferred area or zone, we will try to match that.

How to apply

  1. Apply online at our application page with your school name, dates, and preferences.
  2. We come back to you within one to two working days.
  3. Once confirmed, you receive your host family’s details before arrival.
